I first met Charlotte at a Wedding Fair back in 2013 and I instantly fell in love with her and her wedding plans! A small intimate wedding in the most wonderful surroundings. I seriously wanted to photograph this wedding. I emailed Charlotte straight after the Wedding Fair and again in the December, but heard nothing back. Then in January this year, Charlotte appeared again at my stand at another Fair I was at. I asked her how her and Chris were and how their plans were going for their wedding at the Cedar Court Grand Hotel. I also mentioned the two emails I sent her. "What emails?" she asked.
Oh no, they had disappeared into cyberspace, damn you email...................
Luckily for me, Charlotte was so impressed with the fact that I still remembered her, Chris and all the details she'd shared about her amazing wedding plans, that she went onto book me!
As Charlotte got ready, I had chance to photograph her with Catherine Elizabeth international hair and makeup artist, who worked her magic making the bride look amazing.
Charlotte considered every detail and used fresh flowers for her bouquet and buttonholes. Even Chris's buttonhole had a diamonte in it. The florist made sure they were just perfect.
Meanwhile the men had adjourned to the bar!
As you can see, The Cedar Court Grand really lives up to it's name, Grand!
And then, there was the dress...........
The dress was something else! A beautiful, Royal Satin A-line gown in Ivory. The beadwork was simple yet stunning and the corseted back ensured that the dress was truly a perfect fit! Charlotte said that she just knew that this was the dress for her as soon as she tried it on at Broughton's Bridals.
Then it was time for the ceremony, small, intimate and special, just the way they should be.
Chris and Charlotte were childhood sweethearts and fourteen years after they first went out, they became husband and wife.
Charlotte and Chris also chose some silk floral arrangements for their table centrepieces and decorations on the chairs. Silk Floral Art did a wonderful job in creating something so contemporary and yet fitting for such traditional surroundings.
Of course, the boys all looked very dapper too!
It rained for most of the day, so we didn't even step foot outside. However, The Cedar Court Grand is all about the interior!
The interior made such an amazing backdrop for the portraits, it's architecture complimenting the Bride and Groom completely.
This amazing building was originally built in 1906 and was the former North Eastern Railway Headquarters. It is opulent and rich. You want to touch the soft furnishing and lounge in one of the high backed purple velvet chairs whilst drinking a traditional G & T served in a tall glass with ice and lemon.
The Cedar Court Grand's 5* style luxury pays homage to that golden era of travel.
Charlotte and Chris's style was so in keeping with the Cedar Court Grand meaning that they had a Wedding day that could not have failed to be stunning!
As they head off on their honeymoon to Egypt, I wish them all the best in their married life together and thank them from the bottom of my heart for letting me be part of something so special!
