Well, Happy New Year to you all! So, far mine is going well and I am loving being back at work (no, honest).
I've got loads of great things planned for 2015, including some great training booked with the talented photographer Chris Chambers, which will elevate my photographic and lighting skills even higher!
But first, it's time for a quick look backwards to some of the fabulous weddings I had the joy to take part in at the end of last year.
I first met Caroline and Chris at The Barbican Wedding Fayre back in 2013 and we immediately hit it off. They had just had their photograph taken in one of those Photo Booths and were laughing at the picture. They looked amazing together, fun, happy, good looking and I just knew their wedding was going to be something special!
And then Chris told me he was hoping to arrive at his wedding day in a tractor and not just any tractor, it was going to be a Holland T7 in Maserati Blue (I did go home and Google it). That was it, I just had to photograph their day and luckily for me, they came to the same conclusion.
"We hit it off straight away with Jo, she got what we were about and we just knew there and then that she was the photographer for us'
As I drove up to the Wood Hall Spa Hotel, in October on their wedding day, I was so thrilled to be there.
And true to his word, Chris had indeed managed to arrive in a Holland T7! There had been some doubt for a while as to wether it would fit down the county lanes, but I can happily report that no gate posts were injured on it's journey.
Caroline looked stunning in her gown from Northallerton Bridal Outlet coupled with a string of pearls, which were a family heirloom. The pearls around her bouquet matched beautifully.
This wedding day was something very traditional but with just the right amount of modern mixed in.
Now, for those of you who don't know me, I cry, a lot! I wear my heart on my sleeve and cry at EVERY wedding I photograph. But I have to say, this one will take some beating. When Chris's mum stood to do a reading and started with the words 'I searched the internet for some words of wisdom for my son and his new wife, but in the end I decided to write from my heart', I knew I was in big trouble! But I think I was in good company, because nearly every eye shed a tear for this beautiful couple.
I think you'll agree to just how stunning these two look!
It was a typical October day, but these two were so stoic whilst we captured something special. Bravely they put up with the cold whilst my husband and I struggled to light the sparkler in force 10 gales! (Ok, maybe not force 10, but it was certainly blustery)
But, again, I think you will agree, it was definitely worth it!
Chris and Caroline,
Thank you for allowing me to share in your day and to have had the opportunity to meet with your gorgeous friends and family. It was a true pleasure and an honour and I can't wait to produce an amazing album for you to keep and treasure forever.
Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness.
Your Photographer and friend,
