At the beginning of June, I had the amazing pleasure of capturing Lucy and Andrew's special day in York.
It was such a fabulous wedding!
The ladies all got ready together. The atmosphere was lovely, one of pure joy and love.Paula Smith from Reflections Hair Design made sure Lucy's hair looked stunning. The bridesmaids looked lovely in their dresses from Coast and the bride looked gorgeous in her Veromia dress which she won. Yes, won! She entered Wedding Ideas magazine's golden ticket competition and won her dress!
The flowers were beautiful and very special.
Within each of the bouquets was a piece of jewellery from female members of the family, some of whom are no longer with us. In the brides bouquet was a broach from her Grandmother. Katherine from, Fleur Adamo did a lovely job integrating not only the jewellery, but some of the knitted daffodils as well (more about those later).
Andrew in his Jaeger suit looked very dapper and so did his groomsmen and ushers who all did a terrific job on the day of keeping things on track!
The wedding took place at the stunning Merchant Adventurers Hall.
Andrew and Lucy now live in Manchester, but met a few years ago in York whilst they were at University and fell in love.
To them, York was the only place to get married!
So many of the little touches on the day meant so much to the bride and groom. The cake was made by one of the bridesmaids, there were candles lit, to special relatives who were no longer with them, the invites had been drawn by Bethan, Lucy's Neice and everyone (or so it appeared) had been knitting furiously to create the hundreds of beautiful daffodils which were everywhere!
Those special, personal touches, really made this a wedding with heart!
Confetti is unfortunately not allowed in such a historic venue, so we went to plan B.
BUBBLES!
The food was served by Croft Catering, a truly sumptuous selection of vegetarian options and I have to say the dessert of sticky toffee pudding was totally out of this world!
Phil Lyons and his New Vintage Band were fabulous, they did a brilliant job. After the first dance, they really did manage to get the whole place jumping!
All in all it was a wonderful day and I was so honoured to be Lucy and Andrew's Photographer!
