On Sunday, the newly refurbished and extended MonkBar Hotel, opened it's doors to welcome in plenty of Bride and Grooms-to-be to their annual wedding fair.
The MonkBar Hotel, York was looking splendid in the late burst of September sunshine. The newly decorated lounge area has to be one of my favourite looking places currently in York. I think any hotel guest would enjoy relaxing and having a cheeky G and T in one of its new sumptuous leather chairs!
On the stand next to me was Paula, from Reflections Hair Design. She was very popular and very busy giving advice to many brides. She even made the time to do some make-up and some hair 'ups'.
The chairs were gorgeous with their blue sashes. Perfectly Covered made sure that the room and the catwalk area was looking splendid.
Now, I am led to believe, from those in the know, that Harris Tweed is the next big thing for grooms. Edinburgh Woollen Mill had plenty of styles on display.
The lovely Mark Gilroy, entertained the visitors in the outside courtyard. His vocals and keys were on point and he sounded as lovely as ever! I worked a very wet wedding with Mark last year and his amazing vocals kept every happy, including me.
The stand from Wedding Belles & Beaus looked stunning! Ella was on hand to give advice about bridal wear and having just returned from a Bridal dress show abroad, she was definitely in the know about next seasons must have dresses.
Propose to invite had plenty of options for your stationery. I loved the fact that there display invites are all for Rachel and Ross!
Rich Reynolds did a great job in entertaining many bride and grooms with his close up magic.
Janine from Ello Flower's was busy, not least with her 10 week old gorgeous baby girl! Her stand looked 'blooming' marvellous.
It was lovely to see David from Jaydee Media. It's a while since our paths have crossed, having worked a wedding with him last year. His work is stunning and, I can say from personal experience that he is a true professional at a wedding!
Its always a pleasure to see Smooch wedding rings at any wedding fair. I love the idea that they bring the wedding rings to you!
Photo Booth Hire and their talking mirror kept many brides-to-be entertained. These guys know how to throw a party!
Anne from Silk Floral Art was jetting off on holiday but had left her gorgeous stand in someone else's careful hands. I am lucky enough to have one of Anne's displays in my house. It was a gift from a bride after I photographed her wedding. It still looks stunning today, two years later, but then I guess thats the point of silk flowers!
Outside in the sunshine was Champagne Cars
Asquith Jewellers were busy showing off all things sparkly with both engagement and wedding rings on display.
Samantha at Acomb Travel was on hand and ready to help with any questions on your honeymoon.
No More Tiers cakes looked good enough to eat and I for one, was very tempted!
Electrifying Promotions provided some entertainment before the catwalk show began.
Bridal Gowns & Accessories, Oxfam, provided all the dresses.
And they looked amazing! Not only are the dresses a snip, but they are also doing something for charity. What a fabulous way to buy a wedding dress, save some money and give something back.
And then of course there was me!
I had a fabulous day, spoke to lots of lovely bride and grooms-to-be as well as seeing lots of old friends from the Wedding industry.
We were all looked after with bacon sandwiches and tea from the Monkbar Hotel and there was even a pastry or two.
It really was a great event and I for one hope to be back at the Monkbar Hotel again soon.
