My first wedding of 2019 was something very special. Stew and Vicki tied the knot at The Grand Hotel on 26th January in front of their friends and family.
It was a most beautiful day, full of romance, tears, love and joy, all tinged with a bit of sadness as Stew's father was unable to attend due to illness. However, a live audio feed during the ceremony ensured that he was able to be part of the event by doing a reading. I know that everyone in the room was moved by his voice wishing his son and new bride well.
The ceremony took place in the grand ballroom. Ambience Venue Styling did such a beautiful job with their amazing canopy blossom trees, chair covers and sashes and the flowers by Dutch Nurseries flowers finished off a truly romantic look!
Another highlight of the day for me were the speeches. There was plenty of laughter, some appalling "dad dancing" by Stew's friends and the speech made by Stew and then Joshua, Vicki's son were so touching. I think the whole room was in tears, again. I love it when, in a room full of friends and family, the speeches are made from the heart.
After the meal, Stew, Vicki and I took the opportunity to slip away to capture some fabulous images on the bar walls with York Minster in the background and when we returned it was onto the dancing part of the day with music provided by the Southwest Band.
I am pleased to say that Stew's dad is now much better and I am sure he has enjoyed looking through all the pictures from the wedding day.
It really was one of those weddings that will stay as one of my favourites for quite some time.
Thank you again Stew and Vicki, all your friends and family for making my job an absolute pleasure and I hope your photographs bring you joy for many years to come.
