As the summer fades away and we get into more autumnal weddings the weather can be either our friend or our enemy!
Luckily for Beth and Tim's wedding in September the weather was definitely their BFF.
The morning started early at Woodstock Weddings in the cottage, with Beth and her ladies all getting ready together. As soon as I arrived I just new it was going to be a wonderful, fun day.
My first element of joy came when I saw the colour scheme that Bethany had chosen for her bridesmaids and her bouquet. A stunning mix of all those lovely, warm autumnal hues. The bouquet by Wild Floral Couture was an absolute triumph!
I think there is no more special moment on a wedding day than when mum gets to assist her daughter into her dress!
Once Bethany was into her gorgeous gown, we had arranged for a first look with her father, but before her dad got to see her, we had the fun of doing it with her bridesmaids. I just love it when all the bridesmaids get to share this moment together. The expressions are priceless!
Once all the ladies were ready, it was time for me to leave to head to the church to catch up with Tim and his groomsmen before the ceremony.
Now, Bethany and Tim are not from York, but York is very dear to them because it is where they met as students. Having both studied at York University, they were permitted to tie the knot in the parish of Heslington.
The transport that Bethany and Tim chose for the day was perfect. Beth and her dad arrived in a fantastic VW, with her bridesmaids following behind in a London Cab. They also thought about their guests and provided them with a gorgeous, double decker, vintage bus. All the transport was so in keeping with their day!
At the end of the ceremony, after a bit of yoga by the flower girl, it was outside for a fabulous confetti exit.
Then it was time to head across York back to Woodstock for the wedding breakfast and evening reception.
The weather was so lovely, a glorious sunny day! Although, it might have been a bit chilly in the shade, but as there were plenty of blankets and heaters, the cool air didn't stop anyone enjoy their arrival drinks and music from a fantastic duo, Lemonade.
After the very funny speeches, the bridal party and I headed off into the fields that surround Woodstock to make use of the open vista, the sun and the wonderful sky!
One thing I love about autumn weddings is the richness in the colours of the sun and sky. As the sun began to drop, the sunshine on the trees was so warm and golden.
Then it was party time. The local band City Walls provide the sounds for the evening and Woodstocks very own cocktail bar provided the refreshments!
All in all it was a fantastic day where everything was just perfect. I had the best day with Beth, Tim and all their families and friends, thank you for booking me and I hope you all enjoy looking at the pictures and talking about how good your wedding day was, forever!
