Dating back to 1080 and nestled in the heart of the exclusive Minster Quarter, Grays Court is a glorious building and has evolved over the centuries, occupied since the first Treasurer to York Minster took residence in 1092. Family-owned since 2005 it certainly makes a great backdrop to your natural wedding photographs. Grays Court is extra special and so much more than just a wedding venue. From weddings that enjoy exclusive use of the majestic house and beautiful garden for a full day or weekend, to those who prefer a smaller more intimate affair, they will be with you every step of the way.
They provide a professional yet relaxed service in a spectacular setting. As a privately-owned boutique hotel, they endeavour to work with you as individuals and offer a truly bespoke service. Their dedicated staff will be there every step of the way, from your first steps into their cobbled courtyard to your last dance at the end of the night.
Home to one of the largest private gardens within York which are truly stunning and beautiful to photograph. Not only are they surrounded by the Bar Walls, they also allow for great views of York Minster meaning that you can have that amazing building in the background of your bride and groom wedding day portraits. Grays Court is also one of the few city centre hotels permitted to host outdoor ceremonies. In the summer there is nowhere finer to celebrate. In the afternoon sunlight, you may read your vows under the bower of our charming summer-house with trails of wisteria framing the scene.
With it's great variety of traditional interiors that are beautifully staged and it's exterior gardens that are manicured perfectly, it really is another one of those photographers dream wedding venues in York. And you will love it too!
